Victims of Special Crimes Support Program

No one chooses to be the victim of a crime—especially a serious crime or investigation. These incidents can range from significant property damage and theft to violent crimes and death investigations. Whether the event is violent or non-violent, intentional or unintentional, crime leaves lasting and often overwhelming impacts on those affected.

Crime does not discriminate. Victims come from every age group, background, neighborhood, and financial situation. They may be property owners, family members grieving a loved one, friends, parents, children, neighbors, or entire households. Above all, they are real people in our community facing what may be one of the most difficult days of their lives.

This program exists to provide immediate, compassionate support during those critical moments.

How This Program Helps

Through partnerships with the Carlsbad Police Department (CPD) Investigations Division, donated gift cards and resources are made readily available to supervisors, detectives, and crime scene investigators. These items can be given directly to victims on the spot to help meet urgent, short-term needs while they begin navigating the aftermath of an incident.

While assistance may also be available through CPD, the City of Carlsbad, or insurance claims, this program focuses on filling the gap by addressing immediate needs—even if only temporarily—during a time of crisis.
